We hosted Midwest Moves this weekend here at CMC!  We had a full day of hip

hop master classes from famous NYC teachers and choreographers.  Special

thanks to all the dancers who came out and to Jamie Jackson, Ms.Vee, Chio, and

Manwe for a great day!

Meet the fabulous instructor:

Stephanie Turek

Ohio born, raised, and trained, Stephanie Turek now lives in Los Angeles, California.  She attended Point Park University on a dance scholarship and began her professional career at eighteen when she was offered her first contract with Stiletto Entertainment and Holland America Cruise Line and was later featured on Oprah Winfrey’s “Trip of a Lifetime.”  After four years of traveling the world as a principle dancer and dance captain at Stiletto Entertainment, she was recently promoted to Show Director and was responsible for helping create the show, "Dancing with the Stars." Since her move to LA in 2011, Stephanie has had opportunities to work with top choreographers such as Melanie Lewis and Gustavo Vargas, she was a featured dancer in a Janet Jackson tribute production, she recently signed with Go-2 Talent Agency, and continues to study at all of the major studios with a focus in jazz, jazz funk, and heels.

Summer Dance has started at CMC!!!

This past week, our princess, rockstar, and all-star dance camps have begun!  All of our students enjoyed conditioning for summer and learning new stunning choreography from all of our teachers!  Monday night kicked off our master class series with a master class from the director of Cleveland's own Morrison Dance Company, Sarah Morrison! All of the students that took part in her class studied a new "sand-pouring" technique, and worked on some non-traditional partnering skills.  Overall, this week has been phenomenal and we can't wait for week 2 of Summer Dance at Creative Movement Center!!!!!

Don't forget about this Monday's Intermediate/Advanced Ballet Master Class with Stephanie Krise, a dancer and choreographer at Verb Ballet!

All Ohio Dance Festival

 

This weekend our dancers performed at the All Ohio Dance Festival at Tri-C East Campus. 

We performed three dances choreographed by our amazing teachers Hayley and Claire. Our students took master classes all day by some of the most known teachers from the area.

We truly shined when receieving two of the five given senior scholarships. Kristen Stultz and Jake Washabaugh were awarded a $500 scholarship each!

 

We are so proud of everyone who performed and thanks to the students and families who came out to support!!!
